Everything starts with an idea. Basically this part of creating something is the most complicated part and takes huge amount of time. Here is my little story how I was looking for an idea of my poster.

I was trying to decide what to do for my Photoshop class term project. We had to do 11 by 17 poster using all the techniques that we’ve learned. So, i started browsing web looking for an idea. After couple hours of research i still didn’t decide what to do. But then, i remembered a nice old computer game Arcanum and here the idea came!. Steampunk.

Steampunk is a s a sub-genre of fantasy that became popular in the 1980s and early 1990s. The term denotes works set in an era or world wheresteam power is still widely used—usually the 19th century – but with prominent elements of either sci-fi, such as fictional technological inventions like those found in the works of H. G. Wells and Jules Verne, or real technological developments like the computer occurring at an earlier date.

I’ve started thinking about the concept an finally i’ve decided to make a steampunk maniac that lives in an old city and hunt for people (basically all maniacs do this =P ). So heres a picture that i’ve found:

Then, I’ve started looking for a ports of his steampunk body. Finally, I’ve started to add this parts creating someething new. It took me 5 hours to finish everything, but i am completely satisfied. Here is the final variont of my poster:
